Atlantis, the mythical lost city. I always thought that this story was more like a fantasy story told by the Philosopher Plato somewhere around the 4th century BC, but I found a kernel of truth in this story, so off I went to Greece to find the Origin of the Story of Atlantis.

Before I even travel to Greece, I found in my research, that there are many historical documents telling a story of the end of a great civilization. I found an Egyptian stele that told the story of the disappearance of trading partners, A Report written on Bamboo from Ancient China telling the story of a great ashen cloud that came from the West, and of course the report of the Civilisation itself.

The Eruption of the Island of Thera, which nowadays is known as Santorini, is highly likely the source of the Story of Atlantis. The ruins of the Minoan Settlement of Akrotiri on the southside of the Island of Santorini are probably one of the last remains of the Civilisation that got lost in the Eruption thousands of Years ago.
