The search for the lost painting of the Just Judges from the Altar Piece of Ghent was a different expedition than my usual thing.

The Story goes like this in 1934 two panels of the Altar Piece of the St. Bavo Cathedral were stolen. There was a heavy traffic of correspondent by the thief to the police and even one panel was given back but the panel of the Just judges was never given back. There are some suspects who could have done it. And till this day there is still a police officer in Ghent dedicated to the case.

it was more like a Detective story than a real Treasure hunt. I was visiting the scene of the crime the St.Bavo Cathedral, every Historical Building that had any connection with the case, and searched everywhere. but the one thing I found was, well, marketing for the missing panel, a lot of marketing. It seems like it is a open secret in Ghent where the panel could be, but one of the greatest art thefts in history is great story to get tourists visiting a city.
