I once acquired an old photograph of an ancient Shinto shrine in Japan. For months I couldn't figure out why the photograph seemed so strange to me, then it suddenly hit me: The proportions of the photograph seemed off. The Trees were huge and the buildings of the shrine were rather small. But the trees do not look like huge trees would look like so the shrine must be really small. I did some research and came across a location where the shrine could be. While I was researching I came across two more shrines that are hidden away on the main Island of Japan. Together with my fiancee, I traveled to Japan to look for the shrines. The Travel started in the busy streets of Tokyo, where we found one of the shrines in  Akihabara stuck right between the skyscrapers. The Second was near a small village that was located right outside of Yokohama. The last Shrine, the main shrine I was looking for was near Kyoto. In Kyoto, there is the World's most famous shrine called Fushimi Inari Taisha. If you would wander a bit off the path you could find the miniature shrine.
